Cantina del Taburno: A Pillar of Viticulture in Campania
Founded in 1972, Cantina del Taburno stands as a landmark in the municipality ofFoglianise, serving as a reference point for viticulture in the region. Known for itsunwavering production philosophy and significant economic contribution to the area, thewinery has played a vital role in shaping the local wine industry.
The grapes vinified by Cantina del Taburno are sourced from approximately 600 hectares ofvineyards that span across the slopes of Mount Taburno. These vineyards are located in themunicipalities of Foglianise, Torrecuso, Vitulano, Campoli del Monte Taburno, Castelpoto,Apollosa, Bonea, Montesarchio, Ponte, Tocco Caudio, Paupisi, and Benevento.
This territory offers a uniquely favorable viticultural ecosystem. Its distinctive features—ranging from the composition and exposure of the land to the microclimate and traditionalagronomic practices—set it apart. The hilly terrain, rich in clay and calcareous marl, benefits from mild winters with well-distributed rainfall from October to March and long, hot, dry summers. These conditions are ideal for cultivating high-quality grapes, leading tothe production of exceptional red wines, elegant whites, and refined sparkling wines.
